On September 16, 2024, at approximately 4:50 p.m., 66-year-old Queens resident and father of three, William Alcindor, was fatally shot while driving his Nissan Rogue near the intersection of Farmers Boulevard and 117th Road in St. Albans. The bullet struck him in the head, causing his vehicle to veer off the road and collide with a 23-year-old female pedestrian, who sustained serious injuries, including a concussion and a shattered leg.
