Jamel Jordan, a 34-year-old Black man, died on July 14, 2020, in Queens, New York, after an afternoon dispute in Far Rockaway spiraled into gunfire outside a home on Deerfield Road near Beach 29th Street. The first calls for help came in around 2 p.m., and when police and medics arrived they found two males suffering gunshot wounds to their torsos. Both were rushed to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
