Death by Force

On November 9, 2024, 17-year-old high school senior Xavier Navarez was fatally shot near his home on Oak Terrace in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m., when Navarez was struck multiple times in the back by gunfire. Emergency responders transported him to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
