Sergeant Paul J. Tuozzolo, a 19-year veteran of the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 4, 2016, in the Bronx, New York. At the age of 41, Sergeant Tuozzolo was responding to a distress call involving a home invasion and hostage situation. The suspect, Manuel Rosales, had forcibly entered the home of his estranged wife, holding her and her family hostage for several hours. During this time, Rosales expressed his intention to engage in a shootout with the police.
