On February 7, 2023, at approximately 8:52 a.m., 31-year-old Marquis Lane was fatally shot at the intersection of Park Avenue and East 167th Street in the Bronx. Officers responding to a 911 call found Lane unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.
Prior to the shooting, Lane had been involved in an argument with his ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of his two-year-old son.
