Nelson Caban, a 24-year-old resident of East Harlem, tragically lost his life on March 30, 2021, in a fatal shooting incident on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx. Caban was driving his Honda Accord southbound on the expressway when a blue sedan pulled up alongside his vehicle around 10:30 p.m. The assailant, later identified as 18-year-old Luis Rivera, fired multiple shots from inside the sedan, striking Caban in the chest and face.
