On October 2, 2024, at approximately 1:47 p.m., 40-year-old Yonkers resident Kavon Reid was fatally shot near East 198th Street and Bainbridge Avenue in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx. According to police reports, Reid sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and leg, rendering him unconscious and unresponsive upon the arrival of officers. Emergency Medical Services transported him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
