John Leonard, a 39-year-old man, was shot and killed in northeast Bexar County, San Antonio, on January 14, 2025. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide after determining he had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire around 8:42 p.m. in the 6800 block of Oldham Drive, where they discovered Leonard lying near a blue sedan with the driver’s door open.
Deputies attempted life-saving measures before first responders took over, but Leonard was pronounced dead shortly after.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing several individuals flee the scene on foot. A juvenile was detained near the area for questioning, but no arrests have been made. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone with information to come forward, offering a reward of up to $5,000 for tips leading to the identification and arrest of suspects. Authorities have not disclosed a motive or provided descriptions of the suspect or suspects.
