On the evening of May 15, 2023, a violent incident unfolded in the North County Precinct of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of a local resident. Casandra Cole, a 34-year-old female, was present in the parking lot of a business located in the 100 block of Shepley Drive, near the Uptown Market. Around 9:04 p.m., the gathering was interrupted when a dark-colored vehicle was observed traveling west on the street.
As the vehicle passed, the occupants unleashed a barrage of rifle rounds into the crowd, prompting some individuals at the scene to return fire at the fleeing car.
Law enforcement officers responded rapidly to the chaotic scene, where they discovered two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Casandra was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment, but she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. A man found at the scene also sustained gunshot wounds but was expected to survive.
