On June 20, 2023, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Kansas City police responded to a double shooting near the intersection of 18th and Indiana. Upon arrival, officers found 37-year-old Barbara Ann Cooper and another individual suffering from gunshot wounds. Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
