Death by Force

On July 5, 2024, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Springfield police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 1634 W. Chestnut Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 46-year-old Jack Osborn with a fatal gunshot wound inside the residence. Outside the home, 44-year-old Melissa Evans was found suffering from gunshot wounds; she was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
