On November 13, 2023, at approximately 8:16 p.m., Springfield police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 4231 W. La Siesta Place. Upon arrival, they found 32-year-old Lacey Nicole Nix outside the residence with a gunshot wound. Despite medical personnel's efforts, Nix was pronounced dead at the scene.
