On the afternoon of April 15, 2025, authorities in Springfield, Missouri, were alerted to a situation requiring a well-being check at the John B. Hughes Apartments located at 2100 North Clifton Avenue. Officers from the Springfield Police Department arrived at the complex at approximately 3:56 p.m. to investigate the welfare of the occupants inside one of the units.
