Death by Force

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 9:41 p.m., Charlottesville police officers responded to a shots fired report in the 1100 block of Grove Street in the Fifeville neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered an SUV parked on the street with one adult male occupant who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Eldridge Vandrew Smith, a resident of Charlottesville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
