In the spring of 2023, the life of 25-year-old TaShonta Gewel Hilliard, a Black female, was tragically cut short. On the evening of March 13th, at approximately 9:15 p.m., Norfolk police were dispatched to the 1100 block of East Princess Anne Road following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene where Hilliard and a 26-year-old man had both sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds.
