Sheila Herring, a 39-year-old police officer with the Norfolk Police Department, tragically lost her life on January 16, 2003. Officer Herring was responding to a shooting call at a bar located at 1010 East Brambleton Avenue in Norfolk, Virginia, around 2:00 am. Upon arrival, she and her fellow officers encountered several individuals outside the bar.
