That evening, around 11:21 p.m., police were dispatched to an apartment building in the 800 block of Goff Street following reports of a gunshot victim. Upon their arrival, they discovered a chaotic scene where three individuals had been shot. Among the wounded was Greta, who was immediately transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The two other victims, both adult males, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were expected to recover.
Family and community members remember Greta, affectionately known as "Ms. Gee," as a peaceful and fun-loving person who would often try to mediate disagreements. Her brother, Jonah Huggins, shared that she was the second sibling he had lost in the past year. Additionally, 33-year-old Jaleel Adonis Huggins of Norfolk faces charges of two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm, and he is also being held without bond. A third individual, 37-year-old Cornelius Lumar Huggins of Norfolk, was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and released on a summons. While these arrests have been made, the police have stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
