Lorin E. Mack, a 30-year-old female, tragically lost her life in a domestic-related murder-suicide in Norfolk, Virginia. On the morning of September 26, 2021, on West Balview Avenue, Nathan L. White II, aged 35, fatally shot Lorin's 10-year-old daughter, Ari'Anna Lashae Mack, before turning the gun on himself. Both Ari'Anna and White were pronounced dead at the scene.

Mack was critically injured in the shooting and immediately transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries two days later, on September 28, 2021.
The Norfolk Police Department investigated the incident and confirmed that it was a domestic dispute that escalated into a murder-suicide. They identified Nathan White II as the sole perpetrator and stated that they were not searching for any other suspects in connection with the case. White had a background of over 13 years of service in the U.S. Navy. The tragic event claimed the lives of both a mother and her young daughter, leaving the community in mourning.
