In the typically quiet and calm neighborhood of Arcadia Street in Norfolk, Virginia, the afternoon of June 27, 2026, was shattered by violence. Around 2:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the 3500 block of the street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Teona A. Purnell of Virginia Beach inside a car, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Tragically, her injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
