On July 24, 2023, at approximately 11:58 p.m., Norfolk police responded to a reported shooting in the 1500 block of Berkley Avenue Extended. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds: 32-year-old Deneen C. "Tricey" Lymore and a 37-year-old man. Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where Lymore was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The male victim received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
