On the night of June 15, 2023, at approximately 11:24 p.m., Virginia Beach police responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of Garfield Avenue, a residential area near Rosemont Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Lonnie Darnell Harvey Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
