In the early morning hours of August 5, 2018, the life of 24-year-old Deangelo Errol Thomas of Newport News, Virginia, was tragically cut short. Gunshots rang out in the 300 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard, prompting several calls to dispatch. When officers arrived at the scene around 2:26 a.m., they discovered Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. He was a male. The violence had erupted from what police described as a dispute between several individuals.
