On February 12, 2024, at approximately 3:09 p.m., Inyo County Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of a man down and bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound on Shepard Lane in Bishop, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 57-year-old David William Miller, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Miller, a respected 17-year employee of the Inyo County Agricultural Commissioner's Office, was well-regarded in the community.
