On a late morning in June, the quiet of a Dumfries, Virginia neighborhood was shattered by gunfire. Inside a home on Fort Monroe Court on June 23, 2023, an argument escalated to a tragic conclusion, leaving 21-year-old Jeremiah Quentin Deck fatally wounded. Another man, aged 23, was also shot and hospitalized with serious injuries. The incident, which police later stated did not appear to be random, set off an urgent search for the person responsible.
