On July 4, 2023, 40-year-old Jamaal Castle Moore was fatally shot in the 700 block of Hampton Avenue in Newport News, Virginia. Police responded to reports of a shooting around 9:15 p.m. and found Moore deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound.
