In the late hours of a Friday night in Virginia Beach, a violent encounter led to the death of 42-year-old Joseph Hunter. On July 14, 2023, police were called to the 5400 block of Stewart Drive, located just off Lynnhaven Parkway, around 11:54 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered that Hunter had sustained gunshot wounds.
