In the late hours of a Friday night in Portsmouth, Virginia, the life of 28-year-old Daniel Christian Rodgers was tragically cut short. On March 29, 2024, while at the Dale Homes Apartments, Rodgers was fatally shot in what law enforcement officials believe was an attempted robbery. The male victim was a business owner and known as a mentor within his community.
Responding to an unrelated call nearby, police officers heard the gunshots that ended Rodgers' life.
Upon their arrival at the scene, they discovered Rodgers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate attention of the officers who rendered aid, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the location.
