On October 20, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Portsmouth Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2300 block of Jefferson Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. Simultaneously, two other men with gunshot injuries arrived at the hospital independently. Tragically, one of these individuals, identified as 44-year-old Danyelle Akoya Lee, succumbed to his injuries.
