In the early evening of June 9, 2024, violence erupted on North Trellis Court in Newport News, Virginia, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Zair Grenade. The young man was one of two victims in a double shooting that occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. Both men were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Tragically, Zair Grenade did not survive the shooting and passed away at the hospital. The second man who was shot was expected to recover from his injuries.
