Kelcey D. Wellons, a 47-year-old lifelong resident of Newport News, Virginia, tragically passed away on November 8, 2017. His death was a result of a violent crime that occurred on 23rd Street and Wickham Avenue at approximately 9:20 p.m. on that day. Wellons was shot and killed by Ronzel Monte Dixie, Meko Montez Brown Jr., and another accomplice during a spree of violent crimes that plagued Newport News in 2017.
