In the late summer of 2014, the community of Newport News, Virginia, was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 16-year-old Bryant Maurice Wilder Jr. A lifelong resident of the city and a rising junior at Warwick High School, he was known for his love of music, fishing, and skateboarding. His life, full of promise, was cut tragically short in the predawn hours of August 14th.
