The event that claimed his life was officially ruled a homicide.

Born on May 18, 1994, in Easley, South Carolina, Gambrell grew up in the Red Hill Community of Clemson. He attended D.W. Daniel High School and later became a certified SLED Armed Security Officer with Next Level Protection, LLC. His interests included running, mixed martial arts, real estate investment, and dog breeding. He was known for his kind and respectful nature and a beautiful smile.

On October 26, 2023, law enforcement took Dishon Dewayne Wright into custody. Wright was subsequently charged with the murder of Rodney Chrishawn Gambrell.
