On April 22, 2019, Jose Nieves "Pepe" Hernandez, a 47-year-old U.S. Postal Service letter carrier, was fatally shot while delivering mail on Terracotta Place SW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Hernandez, an Army veteran and father of four, was known for his dedication to his community and his willingness to help others.
