On August 13, 2021, a tragic incident occurred at Washington Middle School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Bennie J. Hargrove. Bennie, an 8th grader, was shot and killed during recess by a fellow 8th grader who had been bullying smaller and defenseless classmates.
