On June 30, 2024, 17-year-old Mariano Salazar was fatally shot while standing near an opening on the fourth level of a parking garage at 214 2nd St. SW in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Witnesses reported that Salazar and his friends had arrived at the garage that evening.
