On July 9, 2023, 28-year-old Albert Sam "AJ" Gaston III of Greenwood, South Carolina, was brought to Self Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the upper part of his body. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m.
