Death by Force

On December 21, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., a fatal shooting occurred in Greenwood, South Carolina, resulting in the death of 47-year-old Samuel Raymond Wright. Deputies from the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office responded to a call reporting the incident at 2002 Highway 72/221 East. Upon arrival, they found a crowd gathered around an unresponsive Wright. He was promptly transported to Self Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries during surgery at 4:43 a.m.
