On January 9, 2024, 15-year-old Steven McConnell was fatally shot at his residence on Spruce Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:39 a.m.
The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office described McConnell's death as a "violent death" and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
