A 16-year-old Black male named Amir Omarion Brewer-Samuel tragically lost his life in a shooting on the night of August 9, 2019, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The fatal incident took place at approximately 11:45 p.m. at the Whispering Pines Apartments located on Abner Road. Brewer-Samuel, a football player for Spartanburg High School, was not a resident of the apartment complex where the shooting occurred.
