On February 27, 2023, 36-year-old Twyla Cyera Maxwell Weems was fatally shot at her home on South Pine Lea Drive in Jackson, Mississippi. At the time of her death, she was four months pregnant with a son, Kyson Kristofer Weems.

Authorities arrested her husband, 41-year-old Ernest Weems, at the scene. He was charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Twyla and their unborn child. During his initial court appearance, Ernest was denied bond and remained in custody pending trial. ...Read More
