In Jackson, Mississippi, on a late February day, the life of 36-year-old Twyla Cyera Maxwell Weems was tragically cut short. On February 27, 2023, Weems, a Black female, was fatally shot at her residence on South Pine Lea Drive. At the time of her death, she was four months pregnant with a son she had named Kyson Kristofer Weems.
