In the summer of 2023, the life of 23-year-old Raishon Frazier was tragically cut short in St. Martin, Mississippi. On the afternoon of Thursday, July 20th, deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department responded to a call of a shooting at the Red Roof Inn located on Cook Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Frazier suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
For several hours, law enforcement actively searched for the individual responsible for the shooting. Investigators were able to develop a lead on a suspect, and their efforts culminated in an arrest around 8 p.m. that same evening. The following morning, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department announced the heartbreaking news that Raishon Frazier had succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect taken into custody was identified as 20-year-old Quinton Biggs. Initially facing a charge of attempted murder, the severity of the accusation against him was elevated to murder following Frazier's death. Biggs was subsequently transported to the Jackson County jail, where he was held without bond pending his initial court appearance. While an arrest was made, a motive for the shooting was not immediately determined by investigators, who confirmed that the incident involved a single shooter and one victim.
