On May 23, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Columbus, Mississippi, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Skylan Jacobe Sherrod. The Columbus Police Department (CPD) was dispatched to an apartment complex on Bishop Circle at 8:15 a.m. after Sherrod's body was discovered. Upon arrival, officers found Sherrod unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
