In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 23, 2024, the life of 20-year-old Skylan Sherrod, a male resident of Columbus, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. His body was discovered just after 8 a.m. outside an apartment complex in East Columbus, specifically in the 300 block of Bishop Circle. The Lowndes County Coroner pronounced Sherrod dead at the scene, and his death was immediately investigated as the city's second homicide of the year.
