On September 29, 2024, the body of James Williams, aged 56, was discovered lying in a yard in the 2100 block of 41st Avenue in Meridian, Mississippi. Lauderdale County Coroner Stella McMahan confirmed that Williams had died from a gunshot wound.
As of December 9, 2024, there have been no reports of arrests or identification of suspects related to Williams' death. The Meridian Police Department continues to treat the case as a death investigation.
