In the winter of 2020, a tragedy unfolded in Meridian, Mississippi, forever altering the lives of a local family. Bryson Bryce Fisher Tucker, a 14-year-old boy, was found deceased in his home on Jeffery Acres Road on December 22. An eighth-grade student at Clarkdale Attendance Center, Bryson was a member of the school band and attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He was known to enjoy fishing and camping.

The discovery was made after law enforcement was called to conduct a welfare check when family members did not show up for work. Inside the home, deputies found Bryson and his 39-year-old mother, April Fulton Tucker. A further search of the property revealed the body of his 64-year-old grandmother, Beverly Kaiser Fulton, in a shed. The investigation also led authorities to another home in the Vimville area, where they found the fourth victim, 90-year-old Evelyn Virginia Jay, Bryson's great-grandmother.

Authorities quickly identified Bryson's father, 40-year-old Matthew Jay Tucker, as the suspect in the quadruple homicide. It was revealed that Matthew Tucker had been arrested on a domestic violence charge just two months prior, though the case had not yet gone to court. Following the discovery of the bodies, a chase ensued with law enforcement officers in Lamar County. The pursuit ended when Matthew Tucker died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
