In the early hours of a winter morning, the life of 38-year-old Maurice Oliver Chase Jr. was tragically cut short. On February 20, 2023, in Takoma Park, Maryland, Chase was found inside an apartment building on New Hampshire Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds. The unfortunate discovery was made at approximately 12:40 a.m., a time when the city is usually quiet, now pierced by the sounds of violence.
