At the time of his disappearance, Hawthorn was driving a white 1994 Ford Escort, which was later found on August 9, submerged in a canal on a farm near Belle Glade. However, despite recovering the vehicle, there were no signs of Hawthorn, and his whereabouts remain unknown. Hawthorn, who suffered from dementia, was last seen wearing a gray plaid shirt, gray pants, and gray shoes, and he was known to wear eyeglasses.
Authorities have issued a Silver Alert due to concerns about his medical condition. Despite the efforts of local law enforcement, the case remains unsolved, and his family continues to seek answers. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Jupiter Police Department.
