On May 11, 2023, 18-year-old Kendall Batson from District Heights, Maryland, was fatally shot in the 6000 block of Surrey Service Drive. Responding to reports of gunfire, Prince George's County Police discovered Batson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
