In the pre-dawn hours of August 12, 2023, the quiet of Clinton, Maryland, was shattered by an act of violence that claimed the life of 16-year-old Robert Isiah Walker. At approximately 2:40 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at a gas station located in the 9800 block of Piscataway Road. Inside the establishment, they found the young male suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, Robert was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The initial investigation into the death of the Clinton teenager began immediately, with homicide detectives from the Prince George's County Police Department leading the inquiry. While the motive was not immediately clear, investigators stated early on that they did not believe the shooting was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information that would lead to an arrest and indictment in the case, a plea to the community for assistance in bringing justice for the slain teen.

For nearly two years, the case remained under investigation. Then, a significant breakthrough occurred. In August 2025, the Prince George's County Police Department announced the arrest of 18-year-old Stephon Johnson of District Heights in connection with the fatal shooting. Johnson, who was a juvenile at the time of the incident, has been charged as an adult with first and second-degree murder, along with other related charges. Following his arrest, Johnson was taken into the custody of the Department of Corrections and held on a no-bond status. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
