On the evening of New Year's Day in 2014, a domestic visit turned deadly in Clinton, Maryland, resulting in the death of 52-year-old Raymond Quattlebaum. At approximately 9:00 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a residence in the 9100 block of Goldfield Place following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Quattlebaum inside the home, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
