In the afternoon hours of a Tuesday in Milwaukee, tragedy struck the life of 19-year-old Dayvon Shakur Smith, a Black / African American male. On September 12, 2023, near the intersection of 19th and Clarke, a familiar neighborhood spot for Smith, his life was cut short by gunfire. He was pronounced dead at the scene, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Smith, remembered by his family as a goofy and protective individual, was a father to a one-year-old daughter.
